Eric Belsky

Dr. Eric S. Belsky Ph.D. has been Director of Consumer and Community Affairs Division at The Federal Reserve System since August 2014. Dr. Belsky has 20 years experience conducting research on a wide range of housing and urban topics for public and private sector organizations and clients. He was a Specialist in housing finance, economics and policy. He served at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Fannie Mae. Dr. Belsky has extensive experience conducting research on housing markets, housing finance, and housing policy, including as Research Director of the Millennial Housing Commission. He previously held a number of positions in the private sector and academia, including as Director of Housing Finance Research at Fannie Mae and as Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He served as a Director of Building Materials Holding Corp. from September 12, 2005 to May 6, 2008. He has been an Executive Director of Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University since 1997. He serves as Managing Director of the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University. From 1996 to 1997, he served as a Senior Research Associate at Joint Center. He has also held positions with the National Association of Homebuilders. Dr. Belsky served as a Director of Champion Enterprises Inc. from 2002 to March 19, 2010. He is Lecturer in Urban Planning and Design at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He holds a Ph.D. in Economic Geography from Clark University. He also holds a M.A., and B.A. from Clark University.
